Biography

Michele H. Johnson, MD, FACR, FASERYale School of Medicine, New Haven, CTDr. Johnson is Professor of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging, and Neurosurgery at Yale University School of Medicine where she serves as Director of Interventional Neuroradiology. She has previously served as Chief of Neuro CT and Secretary of the Medical Staff at Yale New-Haven Hospital. Her practice encompasses all neuroimaging and neurointervention, especially the emergent vascular, brain, spine and head and neck pathologies of importance to the ASER. She is a graduate of the Yale Medical Education Fellowship where she focused on interdisciplinary teaching across subspecialties. In recognition of her clinical service, teaching and academic contributions she was elected a 2015 ACR Fellow. She is a longstanding member of ASER serving on committees and regularly speaks at the annual meeting. She was elected a Fellow of the ASER in 2017. She is a Senior Member of the American Society of Neuroradiology (ASNR) with numerous publications, exhibits, chapters and review articles. She is the Director of the American College of Radiology (ACR) Pipeline Initiative for the Enrichment of Radiology (PIER) Summer Program designed to introduce rising first year medical students who are underrepresented in medicine to careers in radiology, providing both exposure and mentorship. She is a past President of the American Society of Spine Radiology (ASSR). She received the ASER Gold Medal in 2021.
