Biography
Dr. Joon Woo Lee is a Professor of Radiology at Seoul National University Bundang Hospital and Seoul National University College of Medicine, Korea. He has been a member of the spine section at Seoul National University Bundang Hospital since 2005, focusing on spinal imaging and image-guided spine interventions.His academic interests include degenerative spinal disorders, spinal cord diseases, and minimally invasive image-guided pain management procedures. Dr. Lee has published extensively in major international radiology journals and is well known for developing standardized MRI grading systems for lumbar and cervical spinal stenosis (the Lee grading systems). He has also authored and co-edited several textbooks, including Radiology Illustrated: Spine (Springer) and Spinal Imaging (Panmun).A long-standing member of the American Society of Spine Radiology since 2007, Dr. Lee has actively participated in global academic collaborations and educational programs. He is the Past President of the Korean Society of Spine Radiology (KSSR) and currently serves as the President of the Korean Society of Pain Intervention. Through his work in clinical practice, research, and education, Dr. Lee continues to bridge the gap between spinal imaging and intervention to improve patient outcomes and advance the field of spine radiology.
