Biography
Jeffrey A. Stone, MD, FACR is an Associate Professor of Radiology at Mayo Clinic Florida, is past president of ASSR and specializes in spine diagnosis and intervention. He has joint clinical appointments in Radiology and Pain Medicine. He completed his medical degree at the University of Rochester and subsequently completed preliminary training in General Surgery and Pathology at University of Vermont before completing Radiology residency at the Ohio State University. Dr. Stone then pursued fellowship training in Diagnostic and Interventional Neuroradiology at University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill.Upon completion of his fellowship, Dr. Stone joined the faculty at Medical College of Georgia where he developed the cerebrovascular service as Chief of Interventional Neuroradiology and was an integral part in the development of a dedicated spine center due to his interest in spine related ailments. He held many administrative roles during his tenure and developed expertise in practice management, business development, coding and billing, and health care advocacy. He continues to actively engage in these interests through lectures and committee service for the ASSR, ASNR, ACR, Florida Radiological Society and North American Spine Society. He also helped develop the Radiology Business and Administration lecture series at Mayo Clinic to provide much needed education on these issues to residents and fellows before fully engaging in their chosen career practice.
