Biography

Professor Radiology and Biomedical Imaging and Neurosurgery at the University of California, San Francisco department of Neuroradiology. University of California, Berkeley BA and MPH. Tufts University School of Medicine M.D. Neuroradiology fellowship UCSF. Developed CT and MRI guided spine intervention and advanced imaging of the peripheral nervous system/Magnetic Resonance Neurography at UCSF. Established the UCSF Precision Spine and Peripheral Nerve Center, serving as Director, for treatment of patients with spinal injections; vertebral augmentation and ablation; CSF leaks and spinal cysts. Research includes advanced imaging/diffusion tensor imaging of peripheral nerve disease including tumors, nerve injury and regeneration. Co-investigator NIH BACPAC (Back Pain Consortium) initiative for advanced imaging in patients with chronic back pain. Chair UCSF Radiation Protection Committee.
